John Kani Exhibition

Celebrating Six Decades of Performance, Playwriting and Social Justice

Dr John Kani’s acting career spans over six decades, anchoring a legacy that exceeds the sum of his individual accolades. He recognises theatre
as a communal, restorative tool, and has never wavered from that ethos
even as he climbed to the upper echelons of Hollywood. While his skills were developed within the apartheid crucible that
produced protest theatre, his arc provides a blueprint for not dwelling
on past successes.

This tribute exhibition commemorates key milestones in the life of a man who has been exemplary in our quest to live meaningfully with the scars
of inhumanity.

The exhibition runs from September to 30 November 2026.
